Our audiologist will work with you to achieve the optimum communication function through therapy, amplification, education and training. All diagnostic and therapeutic services are provided by ASHA certified and Texas licensed audiologists and speech-language pathologists. We work closely with other community agencies and professionals to provide a comprehensive spectrum of services including academic training, medicine, occupational therapy, psychology, and social services.

Barbara J. Parker, Ph.D.
Director and founder of Hearing Solutions, Inc.

Dr. Parker, a native of Oak Cliff, completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 1979 and Master of Science degree in 1981 at the University of North Texas. After working in a rehabilitation setting for several years, she returned to academics and completed her Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Iowa in 1992.

The next 3 years she was on faculty at the University of Oklahoma where she received several national and state grants to support her research in auditory rehabilitation. In 1994 she received the Outstanding Junior Faculty in Research Award from the College of Allied Health.

Dr. Parker remains professionally active serving as President of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology in 2002. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the Texas Academy of Audiology.

In addition to owning Hearing Solutions, Inc., Dr. Parker holds an adjunct appointment at the University of North Texas in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. She serves on the DeSoto Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is a member of the DeSoto Rotary Club.
